Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans was arrested by the California Highway Patrol after he was caught speeding and racing on the interstate in his purple Mercedes. Here’s the police chase on video:
The NBA Rookie of the Year was said to be clocked going as fast as 120-130 mph and as evidenced by the video below he was definitely driving recklessly using all lanes of the highway. Here’s the bird’s eye view shared by the police chopper that followed Tyreke for several miles before arresting him at gunpoint.
As you can see from the video, Evans was busted without incident which is easy to understand when the guy had a loaded weapon pointed at his head. And according to the reports, he was compliant the entire time of the arrest.
Fortunately for the Sacramento Kings, Evans was only given an “informal” probation for reckless driving and was sentenced to 80 hours of community service, along with a mandatory driving program. He also lost his license for 30 days.
