Javaris Crittenton charged with murder

Former Washington Wizards player Javaris Crittenton has been charged with murder after he allegedly shot a 23-year-old mother of four on Aug. 19 in Atlanta.

He is not yet in custody, and is currently wanted by the FBI, who believe he is in the Los Angeles area.

According to several witnesses, the victim, Jullian Jones, was walking with others down the street near her home when a shot was fired from a black Chevrolet Tahoe. The shot struck Jones in the leg, who later died during surgery.

Investigators believe this crime was committed in retaliation to a robbery, in which Crittenton had jewelry stolen, and that one of the men Jones was walking with was the intended target. According to an inside source, that is precisely what happened. The source confirmed to investigators that, “[Crittenton] planned to shoot the person who robbed him and missed.”

Crittenton, who some may remember as the “other player” involved in the infamous locker-room gun incident with teammate Gilbert Arenas, is being asked by police to turn himself in this evening.

Since Crittenton is still a fugitive, his mugshot is not yet available, but when he finally does get into custody, we will make sure to add it to this article, as well as to our Mug Shots Gallery.
