Three-time Kentucky Derby-winning jockey Calvin Borel was arrested Saturday night in Evansville, Ind., for driving while intoxicated.
He was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail, where he somewhat smiled for the mugshot shown here, and released shortly thereafter on $100 bond.
According to the Indiana State Police, Borel was pulled over after a trooper saw him make an unsafe lane movement, and arrested after his blood alcohol content level was over the legal limit. Which, in all likelihood, could have been caused by roughly two or so beers. Because, let’s face it, the man probably only weighs, like, 90 lbs.
Regardless, Borel was taken to jail and his agent has stated that he the 44-year-old jockey had been taken off his Sunday mounts at Ellis Park, where he has been riding this summer.
Borel, whose nicname is “Bo’rail”, is the winner of the 2007 Kentucky Derby, the 2009 Kentucky Derby (which is the second biggest upset in derby history), and the 2010 Kentucky Derby.
