Sean Avery arrested for shoving officer

New York Rangers agitator Sean Avery was arrested on Friday and charged with suspicion of misdemeanor battery on a peace officer.

He was booked at the Hollywood Station and released around 8 a.m. after posting a $20,000 bail. Unfortunately, Sean Avery’s mugshot has not yet been made public, but when it does become available, we’ll make sure to add it to this article.

According to the reports, an LAPD officer was responding to a noise complaint coming from Avery’s home, and when he tried to break up the party, Avery allegedly challenged the officer to a fight then shoved him and slammed the front door. Additional officers were called to the scene when Avery refused to open up the door and come out, which led to Avery finally giving in and cooperating with the police.

Although the officer was not injured, this little temper-tantrum of Avery’s was all the officers needed to pull out their cuffs and make the arrest.

Avery is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Sept. 2 in downtown Los Angeles and we’re expecting a plea of guilt. given his track record in the NHL. Just because he endorses gay marriage, doesn’t mean he’s still not the “most hated man in hockey”.
