UFC middleweight fighter Jason “Mayhem” Miller was arrested on Sunday in Chatham County, North Carolina and charged with simple assault and false imprisonment.
He was released after posting a $5,000 bond, but not before he allegedly posed for the mugshot shown here. We know it may be hard to believe, but according to TMZ, that is his actual mug shot.
Now according to the reports, “Mayhem” was arrested for allegedly assaulting his sister. Apparently she wanted to leave a house party the two were attending, but, for whatever reason, he didn’t want her to leave. And in a sad effort to prevent an early party departure, Miller supposedly held her down with a headlock choke hold until she was able to eventually escape and call the police.
Further details have not yet been released, but it seems as though this incident may have just been a fun joke gone bad.
Known for his “goofy personality”, Miller has seen a fair amount of success in the MMA world. He has a 24-7 professional record, and he is currently coaching opposite Michael Bisping on the 14th season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” And some of you may even recognize him as the host of MTV’s “Bully Beatdown”.
Despite the true intentions of this arrest, it is likely that UFC will hand down some sort of punishment, especially considering their strict stance on domestic issues.
