New York Mets star Johan Santana was accused of raping a woman on a Fort Myers golf course in 2009. While Santana actually admitted having sex with the accuser that day, he said it was a consensual affair and that she was the aggressor.
A prosecutor decided to not press charges against the MLB player citing there to be a lack of evidence to prove lack of consent. The woman, however, didn’t stop there and filed a civil lawsuit against Santana for unspecified damages through the same attorney that handled the Kobe Bryant suit after his accusations of rape in Colorado years ago.
Here is the police report that determined Santana would not be charged.
