Earlier this morning, Denver Broncos linebacker Kevin Alexander was arrested on suspicion of assault and battery. He was released after posting a $2,000 bond and is expected to appear in court Tuesday.
According to the Aurora police, Alexander’s girlfriend notified them that she had been assaulted the night before, which resulted in an immediate investigation leading to his arrest.
Shortly after the news broke, the Denver Broncos announced that Alexander had been cut by the team. although the team spokesman insists that the move was solely made to clear room for a new player. Yeah, I’m sure Alexander’s arrest had nothing to do with that decision. Next you’re going to tell us that McDaniels wanted to be let go because he was spending too much time away from his family.
Come on, man. Just tell us the truth. This rookie screwed up and now you have to make an example out of him because your players have basically spent more time in prison than they have in the weight room.
Earlier this month, fellow teammate Perrish Cox was arrested on charges for sexual assault, and linebacker DJ Williams was arrested in November on suspicion of driving under the influence. These two guys were lucky enough to keep their jobs, but I guess that’s what happens when you’re the first to do something.
