Pistons Kentavious Caldwell-Pope mugshot and arrest.

Detroit Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was arrested Wednesday morning for suspicion of DUI, just hours after a game against the Miami Heat.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Auburn Hills police pulled over the 24-year-old NBA player after he was clocked driving his 2015 Jeep Wrangler about 45 mph in a 25 mph zone.

The cop on the scene reported smelling alcohol and ran KCP through sobriety tests. According to the police report, when KCP was asked to say the alphabet from B to N, he sang the alphabet and kept going far past N.

The breathalyzer test he took was said to show a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 so he was written a ticket and posed for the mugshot shown here.

KCP, who is in his 4th and final season of his rookie contract, will be a restricted free agent this upcoming offseason.

The NBA said they will run a separate investigation and wait for the legal case to run its course.

Jalen Rose gets jail time for DUI

ESPN analyst Jalen Rose  was sentenced to serve 20 days in jail by a Michigan judge for his earlier DUI arrest that occurred on an icy suburban Detroit road in March. Rose also received a one-year probation term.

According to reports, Rose admitted to having six martinis that night before getting behind the wheel. Here is the police cam arrest video:

After failing the sobriety test that evening, Rose was taken to an area hospital where his blood-alcohol content registered 0.12 percent, above Michigan’s legal driving limit of 0.08 percent.

Rose, shown in his mugshot here, apologized for the incident saying, “I regret the decision to drive home that evening and am grateful that no one was hurt in the accident… I am particularly sorry for disappointing those who trust me to serve as a role model for young people.”

Once considered one of the top role models for young men in sports, Rose will now be spending time behind bars. during The Fab Five ESPN documentary, which took an insight look into his college career at Michigan with former teammates Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson.

Never one to shy away from the spotlight, it should be interesting to see how he handles this situation.
